Coral reefs are a crucially significant aspect of the ocean ecosystem. However, abusive fishing in locations that include the west of Scotland has triggered considerable damage to such reefs, which are usually the habitat for many diverse kind of fishes. Trawlers which pass the area likewise tend to destroy these formation and up till now, there had been not a chance to systematically fix these damage.
Currently, the researchers at the Heriot-Watt University are developing such microrobots which have the ability to operate underwater and provide help for the affected coral reefs. These kinds of robots will complete the task by searching the debris of every damaged reefs and form it altogether, in an attempt to enable all these reefs to set out regrowing.
The region wherein the researchers plan to engage these robots is the actual sea belt towards the west of Scotland. The reefs in the area have been damaged more seriously due to many different circumstances. The damaged reefs could naturally grow back even though that consumes tens of years.
