Penguins Flying Abilities?

Penguins are birds, therefore they do possess wings. Yet somehow, the wing ligaments of penguins are developed for swimming, instead of flying in the usual way. Penguins can “fly” underwater at rates of speed of about 15 to 25 miles per hr.

Being skilled swimmers, penguins devote considerable time in the water. Most penguins spend around 75% of their existence in the water. Similar to other birds, penguins can lay eggs and they bring up their chicks on land.

All the penguins inhabit the Southern Hemisphere.
